Doç. Dr. Serhat Mutlu 1977 yılında İstanbul'da doğdu. Tıp Eğitimini 1995-2001 yılları arasında İstanbul Üniversitesi Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesinde aldı.
1999 yılında Amerika Birleşik Devletlerinde Walther Cancer Institute de Gen ve Kanser araştırmalarını içeren projede çalışmalar da bulundu.

2001 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi İstanbul Çapa Tıp Fakültesinde Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Ana Bilim Dalı’nda uzmanlık eğitimine başladı. 2004 yılında Avusturya da Prof. Reinhard Graf ile çocuk ve erişkin kalça rahatsızlıkları üzerine fellowship programına katıldı. 2006 yılında “Uzman” oldu. Uzmanlık Tezi Prof.Dr. Remzi Tözün yönetiminde “Genç Erişkin hastalarda Ganz Osteotomisi” idi.

2006 yılında Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji uzmanı olarak Erzincan Devlet hastanesinde yaklaşık 2 yıl mecburi hizmet görevini yaptı ve bu süre zarfında 1000’in üzerinde ameliyat yaptı. 2007-2009 yılları arası İstanbul Bakırköy Acıbadem hastanesinde çalıştı. Daha sonra Medipol hastaneler grubunda Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji uzmanı olarak 3 yıl çalıştı.

2013-2016 yılları arasında İstanbul Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi ile Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesinde akademik hayatına devam edip 2016 yılında Doçentlik ünvanını aldı.

Yurt içi ve Yurt dışı birçok dergide 50’nin üzerinde araştırma makalesi ve derlemeleri bulunan Doç.Dr.Serhat Mutlu özellikle spor cerrahisi, diz ve kalça kireçlenmeleri üzerinde yoğunlaşmış, medikal tedavi ve protez cerrahisi konusunda ileri derecede deneyime sahiptir.

Evli ve 1 Kız çocuk babasıdır. İyi derecede İngilizce bilmektedir.
